VOLUNTEER

The American Marketing Association is the largest professional association dedicated to the advancement, study and practice of marketing. In large part, this is due to the legions of volunteers at the chapter level who keep our association relevant and vibrant.

NETWORKING: Grow your professional as well as personal experience and expertise. Expand your business partnerships in the community in which you work. Make rich, long lasting friendships with AMA members and other volunteers. The AMA continually provides a networking forum, a kind of 7-degrees of separation to business executives and marketing leaders. Volunteers also find that it opens doors to the hottest, most sought after marketing jobs ? before they are advertised to the public.

ADVANCE YOUR CAREER: Career growth is another big benefit of volunteering for the AMA. There's the opportunity to grow the Chapter and make a real impact in your marketing community, as well as strengthening your own leadership, management and marketing expertise. Volunteers define a long list of skills that they have learned or strengthened including: strategic thinking, people development, event management, analytical thinking, crisis management, sales and public speaking just to name a few.

CREDIBILITY: Serving on the Hampton Roads Chapter Board of Directors or one of our committees builds your self confidence, visibility and the respect you get from employees, peers and clients. All of this leads to making a strong, professional impression ? within your Chapter, your company and your community.

FUN! And, as an extra bonus, being an AMA volunteer is just plain fun. It's a way to cut loose from the everyday work stress and team with other fun, creative marketers on projects that interest you.

We encourage you to join our vibrant team of marketing volunteers! Volunteer now at Volunteer@HRAMA.org.
